Jefferson Li

Jefferson Li joined Western International College (WesternIC) as Director of Marketing and Recruitment in March 2026. In this role, he leads global student recruitment, marketing, and partnership strategies to support undergraduate and postgraduate enrollment growth and strengthen WesternIC’s international presence.

With more than a decade of experience in international education, Jefferson has held leadership roles in student recruitment, market development, student transition, and strategic enrollment management. Having begun his own journey in Canada as an international student in 2003, he brings both professional expertise and personal insight into the international student experience. Jefferson has worked across the post-secondary education sector in both British Columbia and Ontario, including leadership roles at Fanshawe College and University Canada West, as well as serving as Founder and Principal Consultant of International Education Elite Consulting. His career began in student engagement and academic advising, providing him with a strong understanding of the student journey from recruitment through to success.

Throughout his career, Jefferson has worked with institutions, education agents, government stakeholders, and industry partners across the globe, building strategic partnerships that support international student recruitment and success.

Jefferson holds a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Royal Roads University, with concentrations in Higher Education Administration and Global Management. He also holds a Certificate from the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) Leadership Institutes, Leadership Institute for Leaders in International.

Originally from Guangzhou, China, Jefferson now resides in London, Ontario, with his wife and young son.
